Pimps is coming to Chicago August 18th!
Sneaker Pimps is the world’s largest touring sneaker show featuring
over 1000 pairs of rare, limited edition, vintage, celebrity signed,
artist collaborated sneakers and a collection of sneaker inspired artwork,
fashion and photography. Featuring original artworks by Futura, Stash,
Doze, Shepard Fairey, Dave White, Cope2, Ghost, Ewok, JB Classics, Methamphibian,
Jor One, SBTG, Kinsey, C2, EricQ, Jeremy Fish, etc.
Sneaker Pimps has visited more than 62 cities throughout the globe making
stops in countries such as Australia (three times), New Zealand, USA
(three times), Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, China, Thailand,
Canada, Belgium, South Africa, Indonesia and The Philippines, making
it the world’s largest cultural street-art lifestyle exhibition.
Chicago
will host the 3rd year of the Midwest’s only stop for Sneaker
Pimps. Chicago sneaker and installation artists will be a major part
of Sneaker Pimps 06’featuring work by:
HolyZapatos (Mike Genovese, Denz, Temper, Jeremy Barbour, Thor Alward,
GRok, Jack, Risk, Fane and Trixter), C2 (Milwaukee), as well as the
traveling works from the aforementioned artists.
PLUS…
Lupe Fiasco will be on hand to liven up the sound of the evening. Lupe’s
new music video “Kick, Push” features 3 Chicago skateboarders
(Jackson Hennessey, Kiko Varela, and Neen Williams) and showcases Uprise
Skateshop. The Uprise family will be bringing some ramps to the party
for some four-wheeled fun. St. Alfred’s, Uprise, Phli, Fly Paper,
New Era, Red Bull, Expensive Stains, and HolyZapatos will all have giveaways
and products on hand to feed the appetites of even the most distinguished
sneaker freaks.
The show starts at 8pm at the Congress Theater, 2135 N Milwaukee.
Bring your love for kicks and some money if you want to stay fresh this
summer.

HOLYZAPATOS IS BACK!
Site
changes a plenty... By the time we're done, we will have a new
section for the store that will function as a custom order form.
Basically, you will be able to pick your own shoes, colors and basic
concept for customization online and send it out for a bid by an
artist of your choice. Along with the custom-to-order page, we
have a news section that is updated daily. It's set up
blog-style to bring you the events and news you need. HolyZapatos.blogspot.com
is your new source for news. The contacts
and links page is revamped for the new season, there will be a few new
customs in the store and we will occasionally offer Pre-Bay sales in
the news and store sections. HolyZapatos is back and ready to
work...

Along
with the new website, HolyZapatos and its artists have been busy....
Denz especially has been getting up in Toronto, New York, Cleveland,
and Minnesota. He's also showing the love to his hometown by bringing
in some of the innovators of graffiti to host an all city, legends-only
party.
Denz, GRok, Temper, Thor, TKid, Cope2, Stef and a few more Chicago
graff legends just finished the Eastern, Central, and Pacific show,
which was hosted at ACME Artworks Gallery located on 1741 N Western
in Chicago.
Mike
Genovese, Thor, Chris Silva, Anthony Lewellen, Caleb Neelen,
Chucho Rodriguez and Remi Morgan are in the midst of the 9 Lives
